GENIE IN A BOTTLE by Micko Macariola

Genie in the bottle is an artiquity - the combination of an antique with the mastery of an up and coming artist. Since he was a student, Quezon-born Micko Macariola has been actively painting and participating in competitions for both students and professionals. As a young artist, his preferred media included pen and ink, oil pastel, watercolor, and charcoal, but he later dabbled in acrylic and oil. Today, the EARIST-educated Fine Arts major is a decorated artist, holding several awards and honorable mentions from years of competing through his teens to early twenties. His work has been recognized by organizations like the GSIS, Shell, Petron, Cocolife, and PLDT. In 2015, Micko began taking on the role of judge for painting and poster-making competitions. Since 2014, he has been actively participating in local group exhibitions, with the goal of eventually showing his work to the international art community. Micko has also shifted his focus to painting with oil.
