Executive Director Pauline Juan talks about the journey—so far—to FAME+

I am beyond proud to have shown you today the product of two years' planning, design and build. One of the most challenging aspects of this endeavor has been the digitization of CITEM itself, of the Manila Fame team and our stakeholders in terms of strategy, work processes, and support system, including manpower and technology. To be quite honest, there’s still a lot to be learned, a lot of training to undergo, a lot of tweaks that need to be applied to the site itself.

Fame+ Philippine Design and Beyond

FAME+ is Manila FAME’s new Digital Trade Community Platform which went online in October 2020.  Its name, accentuated by the plus (+) sign, embodies Manila FAME’s intent to provide more ways to promote Filipino MSMEs and add value to the sourcing experience.

It aims to take Philippine design into the digital age by bringing together exhibitors, buyers, and stakeholders—the FAME+ community—in one digital space. Unbound by space and time, FAME+ is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

This new platform exhibits the Manila FAME brand’s capability to evolve and do more in championing Filipino MSMEs. Using the power of storytelling, technology, and imagery to promote the work of the country’s finest manufacturers, brands, and artisans, FAME+ intends to ensure and improve the discoverability of exhibitors online, offering them endless possibilities and opportunities to connect to more markets globally.

FAME+ is also designed to complement the future editions of the Manila FAME physical trade show, offering stakeholders a hybrid trade show experience in years to come.

Manila Fame: The Philippines’ Premier Design and Lifestyle Event

Manila FAME is the Philippines’ premier sourcing trade show for premium quality artisanal products for modern living.

A highly curated show featuring nearly 400 dynamic and creative enterprises in each edition, Manila FAME supports and showcases local MSMEs and artisan communities from the home, fashion and lifestyle industries through various capacity-building programs and collaborations with top Filipino designers.

Attracting over 7,000 buyers from the Philippines and the world, Manila FAME serves as a cultivating ground and springboard for innovative, top-of-the-line Philippine products and designers to break through key international markets. Hundreds of new collections by acclaimed international and leading Filipino designers are exclusively developed and launched in Manila FAME’s curated exhibit of global trends.

In 2020, Manila FAME is going digital with the launch of its new trade community platform called FAME+. This initiative brings together exhibitors, buyers, and stakeholders in one platform to interact and do business online. It is a fulfillment of the digital initiatives introduced to stakeholders to complement the show and harness technology in promoting Philippine exports.

Manila FAME is a member of the Union des Foires Internationales and organized by the Department of Trade and Industry – Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (DTI-CITEM).

Citem / DTI

The Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) is the export promotion arm of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). The agency organizes local trade events and leads country delegations in overseas trade fairs around the world to promote Philippine export products and services from various local industries.

CITEM organizes Manila FAME for the home, fashion and lifestyle industry; IFEX Philippines NXTFOOD ASIA for the food and beverage industry; and CREATE Philippines for the creative industry. The agency is also building up the Sustainable Solutions Expo (SSX) which will be the country’s first trade show for sustainability solutions and technologies. The agency also spearheads various country exhibits, product development activities and collaborations to further elevate the products and services of Philippine brands in these key industries.

Going beyond physical exhibitions and missions, CITEM is launching digital trade and community platforms to complement its digitization efforts to further expand the reach of Philippine companies. Through these digital initiatives, the agency aims to provide an enhanced and seamless year-round sourcing experience for international buyers through online catalogues, business-to-business matching activities, export-oriented webinars and other experiential promotional events.
