The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is an attached agency of the Department of Health (DOH). The FDA as a regulatory agency is mandated to ensure the safety, efficacy, quality, and purity of health products in order to protect the health of the Filipino people.
The FDA has 4 Centers namely the Center for Drug Regulation and Research, Center for Food Regulation and Research, Center for Cosmetic and Household/Urban Hazardous Substances Regulation and Research, and Center for Device Regulation, Radiation Health, and Research.
The FDA issues a License to Operate for the manufacturers, distributors (importers, exporters, wholesalers), drug outlets, and other establishments and facilities of health products as determined by the FDA, and Certificates and Authorizations for health products under the jurisdiction of the FDA.
