BCI is basically a producer and exporter of world class wooden furniture that includes among others, chairs, case goods, mirror frames, consoles and beds.
The art of woodcarving has been with the family for generations. In 1972, Mr Jose Bituin, the founder of Betis Crafts, Inc has decided to open his own furniture business
this budding business focused its effort in producing monkey pod (acacia) wares for thedomestic market. The first biggest break of the family business came in 1986 when they joined the Furniture Show sponsored by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) at High Point, North Carolina. It was at then that Betis Crafts was able to catch the attention of world known companies like Maitland-Smith, Hickory Chairs, Casa Bique and Harden Furniture.
In 1990, BCI made big waves when it was selected to create the mirror frames of the Gustavus Collection of Sweden’s King Gustav. This collection is a multinational furniture sourcing project of Sweden’s IKEA-world’s biggest retailer of products ranging from furniture and furnishings to consumer goods. It has wide-scale operations in Europe, US, Asia and Latin America. Samples were made including three carved mirrors with the same gilt finish as that of 200 years ago in Sweden.
Another accomplishment for BCI was when it was assigned by the Center for International Trade Expositions and Mission (CITEM) to make the throne for the 1994 Miss Universe Beauty Pageant where Miss India became the title holder.
Over the years, other clients like Julia Gray, Ltd, Fergusson-Copeland, La Barge Ltd, William-Sonoma Homes, Neiman Marcus, And So To Bed to name a few.
For more than 45 years, Betis Crafts incorporated continuously engage in innovative ways to improve its product lines. It stays vigilant with its mission to the community, by providing jobs to the local town people of Pampanga and Tarlac and to the industry itself, by helping to promote the furniture products of other small exporters.
